Deputies responded and were told the body was near a turnout between Borrego Springs Road and Yaqui Pass. When deputies arrived at the location they found the victim, Samuel “Sammy” Brooks, deceased. Sammy was last known to be a transient living in Oceanside. Cause of death was due to blunt force trauma injuries.
